Fred Booth was a teacher and coach for 37 years. In 24 seasons as a head basketball coach, his teams averaged 17 wins per season. Mr. Booth’s teams won ten regional titles, thirteen conference titles, had ten sectional appearances and won the state title in 2001. As a result of winning the state title, Coach Booth was selected as the Wisconsin Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

84% of the boys who played for Booth as seniors graduated from college and in 37 years Mr. Booth never received a technical foul. In 1993, Booth was selected as an Eau Claire area teacher of the Year and was honored as the National Basketball Coaches Association National Boys Basketball Coach of the Year in 2006 for his leadership and dedication to young people. Many of his former players are now successful coaches in their own right.

During Coach Booth's coaching career he:

·         Has organized over 50 basketball tournaments,

·         coached at over 100 basketball camps,

·         organized numerous AAU teams, two of which traveled to Arizona and Colorado,

·         coached three teams to perfect records (1989, 1998 and 2006),

·         and coached in the World Tournament (1993 and 2005).

Coach Booth brings a theme to the game of basketball that emphasizes the teaching of skill and having fun while playing the game. He carries a strong faith in the Lord, an integral part of this basketball camp.

PETERSON

Arlen Peterson ("Arnie") is a native Amery, WI.
