The ARC is located in northwestern Wisconsin along the beautiful St. Croix River Valley, just 45 minutes from the Minneapolis-St Paul Metropolitan area. From 1954-1975 the grounds where the ARC now stands served as a Radar Base for the USAF. In 1979, the abandoned radar base was purchased by the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC) and is a year-round, full service camp and retreat center that has served the St. Croix River Valley for 40 years.
